Can't Hardly Date is the eleventh episode in Season 1 of Sydney to the Max. It first aired on April 12, 2019 to 0.62 million viewers.[1]


Sydney thinks her dad might be lonely, so she encourages him to start dating again. When Young Max breaks his skateboard again, Judy makes him earn money to buy a replacement.

  • The episode title is a play on the 1998 drama film Can't Hardly Wait.
  • It is revealed that Sydney's mother died five years ago before the series which explains why Max didn't ask women out.
    • This means that Sydney's mother died in 2014.
  • The magazine Sydney reads is called "Teenage World" which is a play on the magazine "Girls World."
  • Max's bike shop, Reynolds Rides, appears for the first time in the series.

  • Max’s bike from when he was younger was shown in the bike shop, which is what inspired him to run his own bike shop. It is unknown if he ever gave up skateboarding for good.
  • Morals: Get to know someone before you decide to date them and let other people choose who they want to date especially after someone they loved romanticly has died.
  • Sydney says her mother died five years ago, but "How The Syd Stole Christmas" and "Thirteen Candles" say she died four years ago.
  • Kelly Frye would later go on to portray Sarah Campbell in the Disney Channel series, Secrets of Sulphur Springs.
