Season 3 of Sydney to the Max was announced on November 21, 2019.[1] Production was scheduled to begin in March 2020 but did not, due to COVID-19. Filming began on October 13, 2020[2] and wrapped on May 12, 2021. The season will consist 21 episodes. The season premiered on March 19, 2021,[3][4] and concluded on November 26, 2021.

On December 31, 2021, Ruth Righi confirmed Sydney to the Max would not return for a fourth season.[5]

Plot

Sydney and her friends, along with Young Max and Leo in the '90s, embark on eighth grade and take on challenging and relevant issues such as struggles with cultural identity, trying to fit in, coping with divorce and the impact of microaggressions.

  • The show was cleared for a third season ahead of Season 2's release, making it the second live-action series on Disney Channel to be renewed ahead of a season's release in 2019 with the first being Gabby Duran & the Unsittables.
  • Production on the season was set to begin in March 2020, but due to COVID-19, it was delayed indefinitely. Production started on October 13, 2020, and wrapped on May 12, 2021.
  • Due to COVID-19, the season 3 picture is an un-used photo from the season 2 photo shoot.
  • There is a Halloween episode this season.[6] This marks the second holiday-themed episode in the series.
  • The flashbacks in this season are taking place in 1993.

  • The series finale aired on the same day as the series finale of Gabby Duran & the Unsittables.
    • This is the second time 2 series finales have premiered on the same night, as Jessie and I Didn't Do It have also aired their series finales on the same night (October 16, 2015).
